Despite what the mega-rich jet set might say, Nadia and Natasha Tannenbaum actually do have jobs. Every Tannenbaum, regardless of reality have obligations to keep the clan in the very tight circle of the "Owners of the World." The twins are no exception to this rule. Both are required one day of the year to be "Official" Tannenbaums. While both, or rather Nadia, would prefer to work more often for the family. The family have long since decided that the twins should have a very limited role in the family businesses. But there is one area the girls excel at. Chaos.. Once a year they hold a meeting of persons designated by the "Owners" that for all intents and purposes are the ones that would take the blame for failures that are always occurring to one group of the masses or another by a different group of masses lead by these designates. Most would call them Politicians or world leaders of some type. Now while some of these persons remain the same for quite some time, others change more frequently. So the gathering is both introduction and reminder. The twins show the assembled "The Internet". While most people would think the internet is a myriad of computers, networks, and software that cannot actually exist in a single spot nor be controlled by a single person or group. They would be very,very,very wrong indeed. Now the internet is not shoe-box sized, or shiny black with a blinking red light as imagined in a British comedy show called the IT Crowd. It is, in fact a computer that looks somewhere between steampunk and George Orwell. It is a very old computer indeed and as far as anyone that matters knows it does indeed hold, control, and perpetuate everything that makes up the internet. Not only does it look old but it sputters and sparks and the display wobbles something terrible at times. Especially during this annual meeting of the leaders of the world when the sole task is to ensure monthly payments to the family continue uninterrupted. Because as Nadia explains. "It would be a shame if it shorted out and stopped working. Who could tell if it could be repaired....ever? That and the massive EM pulse that would be released from these power generators behind us. Oh I assure you we would be fine, but all electronics across the entire planet, maybe even the solar system?...All I know is a return to the dark ages would not bode well." Nadia would say with a sweet but subtle smile. "Which.." Natasha would interject as she seemed to closely inspect a part of the computer. "There are certain adjustments that are needed to the system that are, I'm sad to say, are quite costly. But..your nations have always donated quite generously when needed." She would add nearly touching the sputtering machine while looking coyly at them. At that point they normally begin offering increases in thier monthly payment options. and the internet keeps running.. Believe it or not...
