A fascinating and beautiful character , set in a superbly rendered environment. She reminds me somehow of the widow portrayed in the Canterbury Tales, by Chaucer, even though the period and times were totally different.

KarmaSong evoked Chaucer, I assume the famous widow/past-wife of Bath, who was very daring and bold...I don't know if Chaucer (of the 14th C) had any feminist notions in mind, but his widow does stand out as way-bold for her time (and probably scorned by all the men---though I don't remember the story anymore, to verify). In any case, your widow is bold and fearless, and I love that you have those posters in the background, as if we expect to see a "wanted" poster for her. ("Challenge Houdini" is enticing enough.) She looks at us like she doesn't give a fig what we think, I love that outfit with the near acrylic sheen (on top) and grand stance though relaxed. She looks like a dancer waiting to grab the next partner that dares her to dance with him. (Like a true black widow.) The setting is an decayed urban wall (love the pipes and decay), and she's got a stare that looks like a vampire. Beautifully done, Barb, love that casual pose with intense gaze....and she's resting against a barrel; and something tells me if that's filled with ale, she could drink the whole thing in one sitting and not blink...It's great to be back here again, and I hope you're healed or on your way to total healing, and that that virus leaves nothing behind...all my best to you, and thanks for your always caring and committed comments.
