Description
Glorgan and his donkey were on their way to a distant market to barter some of Glorgan's wares. He had never been through this forest, but he had heard numerous tales of the monsters that inhabit it. Nonsense, he thought. Just so much "fake news."
Glorgan and donkey were not more than half way into their journey when something strange occurred. They both heard it at the same time. All the birds hastily flew away. Glorgan froze and donkey looked like he was about to flee. It was a rumbling, growling sound. Very nasty, very threatening sound. But, as quickly as it sounded, it stopped.
Regaining his composure and confidence, Glorgan continued on his way with his trusty donkey in tow. But it happened again! That sound. This time Glorgan was nearly on top of it. What he saw made him howl with laughter...it was a stream of hot water rising into the air (what we would call a geyser), its steam and mist giving the two a warm shower.
Once the geyser stopped, Glorgan and donkey continued their journey, arriving at their destination just before nightfall. Glorgan certainly had a good tale to tell at the local tavern that night.

But once he gets to the tavern, will Glorgan tell the truth or also tell fake news to appear very brave? ;) Very cool and funny tale, great illustration too. Have a superb sunday, Barb!

Oh, this is great!! The characters are so unique and relatable, and they’re in a perfect environment to match the story. So well done!! 😁

As the duo continue on their merry way, mist from the gyser slowly settles to the ground. It shimers and sparkles in the forest light, falling onto the hidden surface of a large creature. A quick flash of red eyes then it's gone. A night attack on the full tavern, so much better. The songs of the bards will turn to screams and the moon will run red...
Ok that took a dark turn, lol. Cool image and story no matter which way it goes... ;)

wow, it's not everyday we get a full-blown tale from you. Delightful. I too thought of variations, most of them silly and idiotic. It's a sweet conclusion, considering what the rumbling could've been. (I"m sorry but I can't help but think that, had this taken place during trump, the geyser would've been poisonous or highly caustic, flammable, etc.) I love the pale purples in the background, and the gentle haze. And Glorgon has a nice enough gaze (though I don't think I'd like to pick a fight with him---"you say this was your seat, G? be my guest...") And the donkey looks very friendly, even if he IS carrying 2 tons of G's 'stuff'. ("What you got in here, G, rocks???") Delightful. Nice to have a pick-me-up in these times...

My favorite part is the donkey’s expression. 😻 I keep thinking of someone calling all the myths and fairy tales “Fake News!” My whole childhood was deceived!! (Thank goodness!!)

A lovely tale, I suppose the Donkey is thinking Glorgan should carry something.
