Description
After being told to "Get thee to a nunnery", Ophelia decides to think it over. A walk in the cold water of a nearby stream brings clarity. Hamlet is not worth the effort, and certainly not worth dying for.
While researching this, I learned that as the Queen threw flowers on Ophelia's grave, she said, "Sweets to the sweet". (Never knew the origin of that phrase until now. We owe a lot of our culture to Shakespeare, but he could have had a better outcome for "Mad Ophelia")

Excellent image, great use of colour and like your ending better than the Bard's! (despite having rendered his version more than once...)

Such a romantic figure. Very Mucha. The Bard is woven deep into us. Always surprising to learn a new familiar saying is his.

I really like your concept of Ophelia's fate, Linda (a gal who can think for herself)--though she does look rather sad and perhaps confused in this scene. The still water and the reflections on it are perfection.

This is a beautiful tribute to Shakespeare, Linda. The hair and the outfit are both gorgeous! I love the flow of the gown. Wonderful scene!

She chooses 'wisely' this time. A most beautiful render by a wonderful artist.

I like her expression. "Well. That guy is a mess." Lovely scene all around!
