BIO I'm an illustrator, and for the last 15 years I have been doing almost exclusively digital work--mostly covers for e-books and small presses; fantasy, SF and Paranormal Romance covers are my specialty. I use Poser, Photoshop and Painter, and a nifty little paint program called ArtRage. I have been lucky enough to have work shown on the BBC's The Sky at Night, done promotional artwork for the Hugos, and have digital art tutorials published in Michael Burn's Femme Digitale and Digital SciFi Art (Watson-Guptill 2004) as well as DVD covers, cd covers and e-book covers, most recently for Liquid Silver Books, Edge/Tesseract and Dragon Moon Press. I'm also a member of the International Association of Astronomical Artists. . When I have time, I do acrylic paintings for fun.
Commissions: I do 3d texturing and backgrounds now rather than book covers, and I do appreciate a good UV template to work on. Thanks for checking out my bio!

That is just too lovely!
I think it may be my favourite so far, just pure class!

Aww, thank you! I think maybe Egypt is my favorite so far, but I just did a tropical one with a lorikeet that I like too :D
FurNose
Beautiful Image! Onishi is striking!
lwperkins
She is so much fun--the creators (shadownet and Pixeluna) usually have her as an action hero-- so it's fun to make her model clothes every now and then :D

I'm still fighting the lighting in Daz. I haven't figured it out yet.
lwperkins
Sometimes it's great and sometimes it ignores everything you throw in there. Such a primadonna :D You still manage to coax good images out of it, though!
jancas
Very nice

Thank you so much; I wish some of the other poses had come out better; the character is so pretty!
prae
Beautiful render, I really like that character and the shirt texture is my fav so far.
lwperkins
She's one of my all time favorites even though Daz can be hard on her--she has a lot of translucency and if there is other clear/glass stuff in there Daz sometimes throws a fit. I can turn it down but I always hate to mess with her settings! (Isn't that hair gorgeous?) :D
pixeluna
Oh yeah, DS have its own quirks-- I can understand your frustration. There were times that I have to redo my renders 7 to 8 times. And most of the time I go with no background renders and just do the post work afterwards. I'm happy that you like Onishi, she is actually Rob's work and I just pitched in with the rest. Originally her name was Alexis but we decided to give her an Asian name, derived from Lucy Liu's character from the Kill Bill movie, O-Ren Ishii. Onishi is the shortcut. That's Onishi's origin. :-)
lwperkins
I knew she looked like Lucy Liu, I didn't know the rest--what fun! I always translated it in my head (poorly) as Lady (shi) Demon (oni), someone quite fearsome and who you should respect.:D Or perhaps Number One Best Demon. I should really start rendering her as a standalone item, and then composite in the back like you do. It would solve a lot of problems! And thank you too! <3 <3

Around the world! Lovely.
lwperkins
Thank you! Yes, a travel theme because..armchair travel is where it's at right now XD
UteBigSmile
You have created a lot of great graphics, they are all very beautiful, but unfortunately I cannot comment on all of them because of my back!
lwperkins
Thank you Ute, I'm just glad you are getting better! Don't worry about comments!

WOW... fabulous outfit and marvelous girl !!!👍🙋♂️
lwperkins
Thank you! Such a nice compliment from the master of beautiful girl portraits!

Very beautiful work! :)

Thank you for providing the tools! I use your sets CONSTANTLY, they are so great--the floors and walls are always especially useful.
Radar_rad-dude
Fine looking presentation art! Most excellent work! Bravo!
lwperkins
Thank you Radar! You are such a positive person <3
Artienne
Great work!
lwperkins
Thank you so much!
STEVIEUKWONDER
Lucy Liu to a tee! Such a lovely render, despite all of your challenges! Go to the top of the class!
lwperkins
Uh oh do I have to address the class? I think I'll sit in the back :D Thank you too!
uncollared
Fabulous
lwperkins
Thank you <3
shadownet
Oh wow! How can you go wrong with a render like this. Fantastic!
lwperkins
Onishi is always a wonderful model to work with--I kind of think of her as a real actress "Are you ok with role?" Hehe! She's always a good sport, even when Daz is pouting.
eekdog
I agree that is one terrific texture on her top and a lovely model.
lwperkins
Thank you! The base texture is in my Velvety Satins for Daz, I wasn't able to get quite the same effect in Poser but I feel like I should do another Poser set (they are so much easier than the DS sets).
RodS
Onishi is looking quite fetching here, Lynn! Well worth all the trials it put you through.
I just wish my DAZ would work at all.... Maybe someday...
lwperkins
Yeah, that is so weird--I seem to remember you have an upgraded computer and it should be very happy in it's new environment. So frustrating--but at the same time Poser is treating you very well :D
donnena
Gorgeous render!!!
I'm sorry DAZ gave you fits!
lwperkins
It's Daz's favorite pastime! "Let's wait until the last second and then crash! Fufufu!" It now thinks BEFORE starting a render and I always have that moment of panic DID I REMEMBER TO SAVE THE FILE and usually the answer is no while Daz flickers. I really need a newer nVidia card.
adrie
She is a beautiful model, great work on this scene my friend.
lwperkins
Thank you, she really is one of my favorites!
daggerwilldo
Her beautiful skin tone pops against that monotone B&W of her clothing and the BG. I think it is a quite lovely render. Very color pleasing to my eye.
lwperkins
Thank you so much--I just wish the office building had worked, because it has a gorgeous outer wall that would have looked so good. I might see if I can snip it apart in Hex (looks around furtively, hoping Predatron doesn't notice)
paul_gormley
lol, I like your tale of the tribulations experienced to get this done, eye-opening to a Poser user, anyway, it was all worth it in the end as the colours and treatment worked out really well, a very striking image, I like the little snippet of cherry blossom too :)
lwperkins
Thank you so much! Poser is just a rock compared to DS--I can crash Poser, but I have to work at it (usually it's from doing something absurd with the lights).. The main reason I use DS at all is the clothing--everything drapes better (and much easier) than in Poser. And I do love 3d clothing :D
