So many deft touches here, from the artist mirroring the orphan , to the slob with the phone (one of my pet hates in galleries...people photographing paintings rather than LOOKING at them). Also the choice of the orientalist paintings on the wall... The orphan on the easel looks aghast at the cultural mis-appropriation and stereotyping those works, for all their technical excellence, represent (a topic close to my heart given my heritage)... one of your best, I think!

Je partage ta question avec le même intérêt. Quand au photographe, j'ai hésité à le placer ou pas, disons que la 2ème version que j'ai postée rappelle l'intensité de concentration du personnage dans les tableaux de Vermeer, tandis que celle-ci n'est pas sans évoquer la causticité des scènes de genre de Jan Steen. :)
