Yay! I met my goal of a new page this week! WOOHOO! (lol)
I was about to jump into this big fight sequence with a lot of moving pieces when I realized it felt super choppy. Thankfully, that's the appeal of working in 3Delight. Not to difficult to follow the story. I rendered the middle panel first - it was meant to kick off the fight. Then I thought it might be nice to see Princess Elu at the window. Then it logically made sense that she would vanish from said windows. At one point I had a panel of her just walking out the door, but I think I like this exit better.
Then I had three panels, and after cropping and arranging, I found an arrangement that I liked. Which left large black areas in the upper right and lower left. I thought about jumping over to Kyna, or Tahra, but it made sense just to go back to the guard from the last page. PLUS, I get to set-up the next sequence. The bad guys are splitting up to try and box Kyna in. Will they add to their numbers before they intercept her? I don't know yet. I think tackling four goons with an umbrella is probably impressive enough.
I'll be glad to get out of this city block, though. So many browns. It will be nice to get to an area with a little more color soon. But until then... I've got to put together a place for the fight to occur.
I love how well Dryjack's freebie house fits in with the rest of it. That was unexpectedly nice! I'll probably be using his stuff and Kahll's to build up the next scene.
And we do need to return to the valiant knight waiting in the marketplace... I wonder what will happen with her... (She's actually a sweet heart. I think Kyna is going to end up feeling guilty for duping her. Then again, she DOES stand out! Lol.)
This should be an interesting juggle, because I think I'll be cutting away from the action every few panels in order to provide juxtaposition. Plus, Princess Elu will have one interesting encounter before she can make it to the safety of The Pouncing Satyr.

Feels good, doesn't it? Getting another page done, I mean... 😉😁 I do like the way it flows, with just a bit of mystery to add to the tension of the situation. I'm looking at the concept of the major panel that advances the scene well with absolutely no dialogue. Very skillfully done. You have me thinking seriously about giving that a shot, just for fun.. I sometimes wonder if I have too much dialogue at times. It's all a learning process and an adventure, isn't it?
