Description
Half a century ago (yikes! where does the time go?) Deep Purple wrote the classic song "Highway Star" that was later to appear on the landmark album "Machine Head". The story goes that the song was born on a tour bus in 1971. When a reporter asked the band how they wrote songs Ritchie Blackmore began playing a repeating single note riff on an acoustic guitar, while Ian Gillan improvised lyrics over the top... and a classic was born.
