Description

In 1912, Lillian Gish, at age 19 and already an accomplished stage actress, was introduced to D.W. Griffith. He was so smitten with her and her sister Dorothy, that he immediately signed them up to star in his films. Lillian starred in 12 films that first year, and it launched her legendary career. She is still considered one of early Hollywood's most talented, and beautiful actresses. Audiences were quite simply enraptured by her face. Although only 5' 5", she remained a towering presence in stage and film throughout her life, as an actress, writer and director. She passed away in 1993, at age 99. "A young woman with thick, flyaway hair, big eyes and a small, pursed mouth. She was pretty and pleasant to look upon, but prettiness can't hold the eye for very long. Rather, it was what was going on behind the facade that fascinated. Watching Lillian Gish was like reading a book. Purity is the hallmark of all Lillian Gish's work - whether she was using that marvelous face to project fear or love or innocence or vulnerability." - New York Times My homage to Miss Gish - in the style of early film glamour photography. Hope I've done her justice. Resources used: - Faye for G8F, by Bluejaunte - Galene Hair for G3F, by goldtassel - dForce Alika Candy Dress, by Arryn and Onnel

Fine work! You might think the image, the myth that youth lasts forever, would have made it's way to common sense by now... ;)

The more things change, the more they stay the same... 🐉
