I am the author Lyle Aryn. Writing is my first love, my one true passion. Every since I was able to string a sentence together, it's all I've wanted to do. Websites where you can find my work and more are below.
I started using Daz Studio October 23rd of 2018, just as something to dink around with. I'd been signed up with the sight for a while, and would occasionally remember to check for freebies. I was surprised at what I had when I finally loaded up the program. I just started playing around with it, figuring it out. I'd say about 92% of what I've learned in the program I've learned just by playing around with it.
In December I went from being a dutiful son looking after his mom, to the full-time, no nights or weekends off, caretaker of my Mom. As someone who struggles with depression, anxiety and a mood disorder or two, this change has had a drastic impact on my own personal care and well-being. I turned to my blossoming love of doing digital art as a way to cope with the mountains of stress on my shoulders. I do miniature painting, too. But when you haven't slept in 4 days, handling a brush can be very messy. Not being able to paint to my own personal satisfaction was making this avenue of relaxation increasingly frustrating.
Daz Studio has an undo button that you just don't get with painting miniatures.
As my skill with the program grows, so does my confidence. I did the cover to my fifth novel, "Because the Night" using Daz Studio, as well as new covers for two previous releases. (Though they haven't been updated just yet.)
I'm looking to always improve my artistic work, no matter what the medium, and Daz Studio is no different.

fantastic render Buddy
LyleAryn
Thanks!

I really like this! Lighting and shadows are superb, and given that she's got wings, the pose is perfectly natural.
Super job!
LyleAryn
Thank you. She got some sass! She's a character of my friend's. I'm planning something very elaborate for her, so I made this to both show her with the new hair/wings, but to get some feedback. Apparently the outfit is too colorful! Lol.
I don't think I'll top "Embers in the Rain." But I still hope to come up with something pretty impressive, all said and done.

excellent
LyleAryn
Thank you.

This new image is wonderfully done! (Once I had a cat with the same Name)!
LyleAryn
Cool! Thanks for the comment!
starship64
What a fantastic character, and yes! I'd love to see the minis you've painted.
LyleAryn
Thanks! I'll have to do some decent photography of some of them. Hmm. I'll see what I can do. Maybe feature one or two a week, so I don't flood the gallery too much. I've painted quite a few.
Kordouane
This is a very nice rendering. Do not hesitate to photograph your miniature paintings and expose them here, thank you for sharing !!
LyleAryn
Thanks! I think I will.
Koala44
Nice work. I would love to see your paintings. It must be very interesting.
LyleAryn
Thanks! I just uploaded my first one. I think this might be a good opportunity to start practicing my photography skills. (well, build them, anyway. As I don't really have photography skills. Lol.)

Wonderful image my friend :)
LyleAryn
Thank you!
eekdog
a dangerous angel holding her weapon. love the wings.
LyleAryn
Thanks! This is from "Feathered Wings for All" which I think has better looking wings than the Morning Star wings, though they are a little harder to pose.

Look how the tip of the sword is echoed in the corner of her mouth. Just brilliant!
LyleAryn
Very astute! Thanks for the feedback!

I saw some of your miniatures work and most definitely I would like to see more. They are really the predecessor to what we do here.
LyleAryn
I'll definitely share more. I've painted quite a few over the years, and still really enjoy it.

Great image!!! :-)
LyleAryn
Thank you my friend.

I totally agree with Dag! I think you as an artist should post the things that inspire you to be creative! After all its just another side of your creativity that reflects on the person you are! You miniature work is well done as well as this awesome render. It seems like she has a sassy personality! Excellent work! :-)
LyleAryn
Thanks, Johnny! As I understand, she's quite sassy. I was glad I could catpure it well enough here.

On occasion, I have seen angels posed very awkwardly but in this case, she looks superb!
LyleAryn
Aww, thanks! That's wonderful to hear.
RodS
She looks fantastic - I love her! Gorgeous work as always, bro!
YES!!! Yes, yes, yes! Definitely post some of your minis you've painted! I'd love to see them!
I've been in a bit of a funk lately myself, so I know where you're coming from... Then my whole network going down, and problems with my main Poser machine on top of that, certainly didn't help. All back in working order now..
Yeah, this is an awesome community of folks who are not only incredibly talented in pretty much all aspects of art and writing, but also genuinely wonderful people. I've been here a bit over 10 years, and wouldn't trade it for all the money in the world.. (but I wouldn't mind taking say, 10% of it just for giggles, though... 😆) Looking at my older stuff from when I first started, I feel I've grown a wee bit myself! 😉
LyleAryn
That you so much! Even though I made her for a friend, she's become a bit special to me, too.
My plan for the funk? Beat my head THROUGH the creative block! A bit bloody, but we'll see which cracks first!
