They don't light it better in the movies! I won't say you worked for Speilberg, he never lit a scene worth bragging about. But, you probably worked for Carol Reed. This makes me think of The Third Man! Superb.

Heh. Yes, the moneyed class has a loud voice when speaking to the minions of the law even in my steampunk Mollyverse of New Babbage. Some things remain unchanged no matter when or where they occur.
Thanks so much for the comment on the lighting and atmosphere. I struggle with night time scenes and lighting them in a realistic way that still allows good visibility of characters.
