Description
The Queen of Hearts
She made some tarts,
All on a summer's day;
The Knave of Hearts
He stole those tarts,
And took them clean away.
The King of Hearts
Called for the tarts,
And beat the knave full sore;
The Knave of Hearts
Brought back the tarts,
And vowed he'd steal no more.

I like your version of this character, she still has all the evil in there, lol. Off with their heads... ;)

And Alice hasn't eaten a pie? ;) Superb image reminiscent of an illustration for Lewis Caroll's book, great work, Barbara!

Interesting character!

Love this take on the classic character. Still has that air of nobility not just in her outfit, but her expression and pose. I feel like I see her yelling off with her head or saying in a normal tone.

She looks so delightful, Barb! Quite regal... But I'm not gonna swipe any of those tarts! I like my head right where it is, thank you! 😄

upon your return from the oppressive heat you've had out there, I return to your gallery to get to the images I've not gotten to yet. I love your queen, she has all the self-important 'we are not amused' radiance of a true royal---love those pursed lips, and those blue upper lids. That collar---and all that crimson---makes her look like a typically fairy-tale "evil" queen---though maybe she has a heart of gold inside. The way she holds her collar (her left hand) is the caress of a very fast-thinking, calculating mind. This is dripping in delicious darkness of mood; and you got the expressions down pat. (Cards, as you may well know, go back to ancient times, from China to Europe, and in many cases they used royals/or equivalent to illustrate their cards; and all kinds of games rose up around them. Your queen would be a great leading card for a very smart sinister game.) Delicious.
