Waiting behind the doorway from the kitchen, Matilda hears everything.
“…Yoo hoo Hailey, it’s your cousins… now where is that stupid maid… probably simple…”
It has always been that way in the mansion where the servants knew all that was happening and when they were needed and when they should keep quiet.
Besides if the cousins are careless about what Matilda hears, it will make her job all the easier.
