Hailey feels Elenoir's strong fingers seem to close around her throat for a second or two. Very unsettling.
“Isn’t Hailey so sweet, Nevil? Wouldn’t you just love to have her as your girl friend? I wouldn’t mind having her myself, but of course the family doesn’t go into that sort of thing…”
