Description

This was Lady, my english setter/something mix. We got her when I was 10 years old, she was a birthday present to me. She had been bounced from pillar to post, two families didn't want her, and her last one... well, the wife was one of those I'm-allergic-to-the-dog,-either-she-goes-or-I-go kind of people. So my aunt's knew this couple, and asked my mom if we would take her. We gladly said yes, and she lived with us for 12 long, and happy years. We lost her on Christmas Day 2000, at 9:45 p.m. She died from complications after contracting a strain of the Lepto Spirosus virus from a pair of squirells in our area. Her loss still hurts today, even more so this week, because my Christmas's will forever have a touch of sadness, remembering that one night, just two years ago, when my best friend passed after suffering renal/liver/heart failure in my living room. It still brings tears to my eyes to look at her picture, and to remember all the wonderful happy times we had together. I know that when I die some day, she's going to be the first one to greet me, and give me the look like "Did you bring me anything to eat?". Merry Christmast all. It is a time of rejoycing, but also a time to remember those who aren't with us, and to commorate this day for them. Thank you, Abe AKA BladeWolf

Very true and very good message ^-^ I know what it's like losing your first pet and best of luck to you with your new one :) It's funny how our animals quickly become another one of the family.
