Rockport MA 2021
I'm not really sure what the tiny town was celebrating, but when a little old lady dressed in red, white and blue stars, asks you to donate money to the Fireworks Fund, you open your wallet...
This was taken from the same balcony as the other photos.
Thank you all so much for viewing and commenting on this series. This is the last photo. (sorry Mark)
I wasn't going to share so many, but the feedback was great. I'm glad you came along on my first day off in 5 years! Yay!

This is a spectacular capture. You caught the action just at the right moment...love how the fireworks light up the water and those boats. You really do need to take a break more often :)
eekdog
brilliant fireworks photo, love ow it lights up the area like a flare showing the boats. your camera work is so amazing as Mark knows. he himself is a fine photographer.

omg---I thought there'd be a few more days! (yikes!) I've luuuuved this series, I wasn't ready! (I'm wrapping myself in sackcloth, joining a monastery and taking a vow of silence...) (yeah, well, we'll see how long that lasts...) I've loved this series along w/ your other fans: It was so fresh and spontaneous-feeling and had terrific spirit and was true to the great New England coastline...and it's a real testament to you that you did it in 1 short weekend, mostly from a hotel window (!!), and even one or two with a cellphone...wonderful! As for this shot, it's a beautiful capture of a big blast, with real clarity, and at its peak, I mean a big round blast, ya gotta shoot fast to catch that...And, w/ barb and steve, you got the water all lit-up with boats in it--and even some clouds beautifully lit. (And a 400 ISO---that's low for such a bright shot!) Love the falling tails around the blast too....(you know what I thought when I first saw the thumbnail? in email i mean? that you captured the world's most gargantuan dandelion! I mean look at it: It's gi-normous!) Perfect ending to a magical series, you made a mountain out of a limited situation, and I'm truly grateful that you could make it happen. Take that covid (!!) (and global warming and a long, long year and everything else that went with it): This is the real antidote. Now I'm gonna go eat a bowl of gruel and fast for all of september...

Wonderful! Beautiful photo! I wonder did the ships not get hot under the big fireworks?
bakapo
Good question, but I didn't see anything landing in the water around the boats.

Man I'd love to be on one of those boats
