Description
Mark wanted to see a 'reject' photo from my weekend. Here it is, with an explanation as to what you are struggling to see.
This is Motif Number 1 "the most often-painted building in America" it is located on Bradley Wharf in Rockport MA.
This is a reject photo because, not only is it way too dark, it's the back of the building. Yes, yes, the famous look of this popular building... is on the other side... *sigh*
Thanks for looking!

Then you're the first one I'm coming to see, I've been looking at all your latest prints and liking them all, because they've all turned out beautifully. I wish you a good start into the new week.

wow, I am serious when I say I luuuuuv this shot...yes, it's way dark, but we can make out the salient features, and it's like an abandoned house where several people disappeared (or were murdered!)...gotta be seen full size! This must be early morn or just before sunset: The light is perfect, and the reds on the sides are lusciously sinister and mysterious...I know it's a reject, but I'm a firm believer that the artist inside us is at work even when we don't know it, and man, this is one dark, mysterious shot. (I love it.) Thanks for being patient with my 'answer' to your wonderful series, and thank you for mentioning me in the last shot, and for doing this. I can picture a book full of these, called "the dark, abandoned homes of the east coast..." (I saw the wiki article, and looked up some paintings: I can see why people loved it. But I gotta tell you, I like this view as much as those frontal ones ((and what is all that stuff in front---medals???)). You posted this as a joke, but I love it! I can picture you creeping around in back and finding dead bodies and old scrolls...and suddenly an old ancestor pops out of the ground and says 'hi'...thanks so much for posting this!)
(my comments keep disappearing, so if you get lots of "deleted"s in your feed, that's why)

The front of the building has lots of boat buoys hanging on it. This was sunset and I din't have time to walk all around the other end of the pier to get a shot of the front before I lost all the light.

I resemble being a reject. low light captures has their points also. very good capture

I can see the strong red color of the outer wall. I searched for Motif Number 1 on the internet, and found that fun look. Probably a lively house will sleep at night, too. So the house seems to be alive.

Very good photo!👍🙋♂️

I wouldn't call it a reject at all. Add a couple space aliens peeking in the window and that should spruce it up.

You've looked at this from all sides now.... 😉 And I like it! Such a wonderful moody shot, Barb. And a great dedication for an awesome artist and writer - and friend!

I love the dark, low sunlight feel of this one. Really enjoyable.
