I enjoyed walking around a P38 at a museum in California. I can imagine hearing their engines roaring across the sky

The P-38 and the P-51 were two of my favorite Aircraft as a kid so to see the P-51's flying tonight is a kick. Wonderful and fun work. LIKE and FAV !!!!

Superb rendering !!
Take good care of yourself, I don't know if I'll be able to go on Renderosity for the next few weeks. I'm leaving next Saturday, a bit like going to Lourdes and hoping for a miracle...

Nice scene and view of "the twin tailed devil".

Great machines. The superchargers on the P38 were different than those on the P51 - Merlin or Allison powered - more like those on the B17. P38 engines were so quiet compared to other fighters that ground crew were repeatedly warned of this to avoid accidents. I've seen both fly and you can really tell, both at idle and full chat. More like a subdued purr than the usual Merlin/Allison chant on a Mustang, Spit or Hurry.
Counter rotating props seemed so obvious. Why weren't they used on other twin engine fighters and light bombers is beyond me, except that Lockheed was always pushing the envelope and two sets of cranks etc. cost money and increased logistics.

Magnificent flight in formation, these planes are magnificent, moreover they were powerful. Bravo for this very successful scene,

Great aircraft and scene!

Great work. Nice to see them in the air. Even a gentle turn changes the pitch of the engines. I can almost hear it.
