Hi everyone:
I am uploading this render, to go along with the animation I made for it. If you
have a chance, please take a look at it! Its in the Video Gallery.
I have been busy learning how to use the Phoenix FD plugin for 3ds Max. Its
great for creating fire and water simulations. This is an older plugin but works
well with my version of 3D Studio Max. I used it to create the 3D self illuminating
particles used in the fire and smoke.
Thanks to the Chaos group of artists and animators online, I was able to apply
some of the tutorials to finally getting this rocket off the ground. Its not perfect,
but I think it really does put on a great show!

beautiful moody colors, set off by that bright flaming yellow...love the glowing reds in the rocket tower. It's a big burst of red and yellow light in the middle of a dark purple sky (with purple colored water too). It's realistic, but also a fantasy. Great moon too...very moody. This almost feels like a rocket taking off in a remote wilderness, and we wonder where it will land. Beautifully done. (And thank you so much for your very kind comments, they are very appreciated.)
