Hi everyone:
I hope you are all doing fine and in good spirits!
Today I have this short animation using David Bowie's excellent and
timeless song_ Space Oddity. (what a great talented artist he was...may
he RIP among the stars above) This is a song that whenever I would hear
it on the radio, it would make me sad...knowing that Major Tom was left
stranded in outer space with no means to get back to Earth.
I took the liberty of making sure Major Tom gets a little help from an unlikely
source this time around. I had intentions of making it longer and having him
reach outer space but time constraints and other projects I want to work on
somehow got in the way. I'll settle for him blasting off into space!
I thank every single one of you who has viewed or made a comment on my
previous videos and renders. Its great to have your support and I appreciate it
very much!

The fabulous, outstanding fascinating awesome movie raises more questions than giving answers.
Very touching movie. There is still hope you are a most wonderful human soul and not a lovely alien, you already know too much, which is quite obvious.. I assume your word should be fine with me. Either way, the movie is farther more beyond fabulous awesome. Your directing skills are most impressive, shooting, lighting, everything shows mastery.

The still image is superb but this video is...wow ! wow ! wow !...top notch...two questions : 1 - would the ET's help us or destroy us ? 2 - Do they take a dachshound dog with them ? The movements of the waves of the flying saucer are amazing...and whan the rocket takes off we remain speechless, mouth open...

in addition to the beautiful setting and the takeoff, you have a slow pan across the sea, in and around the launch pad, and a small jaunt into the walkways, etc. It moves slowly, so we feel we're viewing this from a very tranquil point of view. So when the takeoff happens, it's a big deal and even a surprise. Also, your water is moving, so it feels as if we're gliding across it. A very effective, meditative, drone-like study of the final moments of a rocket before and during takeoff. And the Bowie song gives it a timeless feel...beautifully done.

Great camera angles in this animation. Just wondering if the addition of some rocket sound effects would have added some drama to the scene. The choice of music is a perfect match though. Fine job!

Thank's for taking a look buddy! You are so right about adding the rocket sound effects to the short animation and I seriously considered it, but I would have had to do it while David Bowie was doing the countdown or near the very end of it. I wanted him to say lift off. I left it off because I thought the brute sound of a rocket blasting off would have over powered his voice a bit too much.
You have an excellent suggestion and next time I blast off a rocket, it will be with the pure fury and sound of the rocket engines! :-)
