This really is fascinating, Barb. Looks like this DD thing is a great tool, and you're making some lovely art with it!

This is fine....so fine! If anything, it gives it even more of an Oriental feel. Itโs very โpainterlyโ, which I like a lot!!

I've looked at the originals of each of these DD pieces, but for this one: I couldn't find this via search. But that's ok---you've emphasized her shading, turning each shadow into a singular entity or paint area, etc. (You've sculpted her face.) And her robe has become a small carnival of organic forms. And her traditional Japanese head-dress has jumping forms. This software allows you to define areas more sharply. And the backbround has taken on that familiar organic primal growth, but it doesn't interfere with all the activity of her person: It's active but still background....A lot of balance in this. I really like the archetypal feeling of a lot of your single portraits, like you're going for a very representative pose, while you nevertheless get these very individual gazes, poses, personalities, etc. This woman looks at us with quizical gaze, a bit of challenge, and a sense of discernment, as if she's as curious of us as we are of her. You get strong complex personalities in a single pose. Fine work, Barb.
