Clarendon, TX
The Romanesque Revival courthouse, completed in 1891, is the design of the architectural firm of Bulger and Rapp. It is now the oldest functioning courthouse in the Texas Panhandle.

Many old courthouses are so wonderful. Yes, people in the past have spent taxpayers money to build beautiful things. Things that have lasted for many many years and I am glad they did.

we have romanesque revival in my neighborhood (though often with rusticated stone throughout). This is an old beauty, and your front-forward capture---with bleaching sun---lets it shout its identity. It's very bold, and I love the rusticated arches and the foundational level, and the alternating stone work on the upper levels. You got it in great presentational light. I bet it has high ceilings too.
