Description
This is for Mark (anahata.c) using an idea he tossed my way. I tried for an old Charles Dickens type of mood.
Thanks for looking and comments, everyone!

If it was me, I would be looking at all the old books to see what cool and interesting stuff I could find, lol. Great looking image!

Interesting beautiful image! In my case, I would find an interesting book or something there and forget about my original purpose.

Lots of inspiration in this wonderful scene. I'm imagining the characters of all those books (sort of like ghosts) in all their period dress and gathered in that hall talking about the good old days when they weren't forgotten and tucked away in a dusty bookshelf. Imagine Black Beard waving his arms around and telling Scarlett O'Hara a tall sea tale. Or maybe Robinson Crusoe discussing the details of building a tree house with Peter Pan.

(love wolf's response...exactly what I'd like to see!) I love how you took the 'treasure chest' idea (how I see your work) and put it into Dickens, and an old 19th century attic filled with books and tons of childhood objects...the perfect light and setting for rummaging through those hidden places...The woman is holding a lantern, and she looks like she's truly searching--ala your title--and doesn't know what to pick up first...I love the old walls and decay and cracks (a big one in the plaster!), and those old, old books strewn all over. You have glass panes there too, and a floor full of old treasures (toys) (there's a whole image right there, it looks like a cornucopia of beautiful old toys), and what looks like a window, though I wonder if it's not a balcony: There's something back there that looks like a cathedral in the background (it could just be a pillar, but it's fascinating!) And fresh sunfowers---in an attic, like they were waiting there for her...And a cat---one of your recurring characters who's often the creature who quietly holds down the fort in your images...a crammed 'treasure chest of the mind'...wonderful, barb: inspiration often feels like a packed attic rather than an 'explosion': another magical image from you. I'm honored to have my name associated with your visions.

Great old setting and colour - love all those books! Nice outfit for her too.

Hmm, that cat keeps staring at the spackled up hole in the wall on the right does something wicked this way come.

Oh, this is just wonderful, Barb! And so perfect for Mark... I have to admit I've adopted the same pose as her many times over the last couple years (where the heck did I put that........? Although she looks far better than I...
You certainly accomplished your goal as it does have a definite Dickens mood to it. Superb all the way!

This is actually a very atmospheric and Dickensian reminder of what the epoch back then may have looked like. What you've created is a wonderful achievement and superbly inspired, well done !
