watercolor and oil pastel have to be wild to work with...I'd imagine they would repel each other, causing strong contrasts...or if you draw after the watercolors have dried, then you get a "commentary" on your painting. I love this. If there's ever a doubt whether a digital artist can do wonderful physical art, your physical art proves it. This is as vital and inventive as your Bryce pieces. But, being physical, it has that immediate, visceral feel that only physical art can have. Love the bold hues, and the deep reds and yellows (lots of saturation here), the drip lines (which are pretty straight), and the sense that the bottom is compacted while the top is more free (a "landscape" w/ ground and sky, metaphorically). Your color sense, and color contrasts are terrific, Steve, and this has a visceral in-our-face presence that i love. Love the contours of the paper (it's watercolor!)
