Description

Quick study to play with cameras featuring a ME109E chased by a Curtiss P40 over a modern city. Hence the fantasy genre. Blur was in the HDRI itself. The annoyance that led to the setting choice was the lack of national markings on the 109 when I reinstalled it after putting it in reserve. The previous version had them, but now it appears the PC monster has taken its bite. Seems a shame as the aircraft was quite well modelled. Politics aside, historically incorrect props are no longer historical. Fortunately I have the original version on the other machine...

Fantastic work! I'm sorry to hear that about the texture. I don't agree with erasing history. We should remember and learn from history, not hide it.

Thanks Starship - was going to use a jpeg on a plane and set up a full scene but changed my mind after loading the Emile.

looks like some part of my old neck of the woods in Kensington in London, saw a spit fly over during the BB remembrance day, very memorable. Agree with Starship, too much nanny-state fiddling going on, need to know in order not to repeat...., super image btw, like the prop fuzziness

Thanks Paul - there's nothing like the sound of a Merlin though the Allison and DB601s were close. Spit was almost to pretty to fight. A huge leap over the Hurry. Curious that nobody's done a good Spit model for DAZ or Poser. There are some very detailed models available on other sites but they are expensive and need to be imported, tweaked, etc. Don't think the woke-a-doddles will squawk about RAF roundels - at least for awhile.

I like the image. My husband is a fan of classic aircraft so I wind up spending some time at airshows and museums... time well spent according to him. Actually, I kind of enjoy it.

Thanks Molly - used to go to a bunch myself. Way back in the day my father got the bug to restore an F4U Corsair. I found an F4U-4 candidate in Arizona a few numbers off one he flew but adding up the costs put an abrupt end to the idea....

Hi,

Just wanted to say, that there is a gorgeous Spitfire Vb made by Bazze as freebie. If you go to the site of Bazze (www.colacola.se), you will find it. Now the download doesn't work anymore, but copy the URL of the page, containing the Spitfire download link and search for it in the "Wayback-Machine ("archive.org/web/") and look for a site snapshot, that still contains the download (to make it short: "web.archive.org/web/20191028163310/" still contains the download).

Another great resource is shareCG where a sadly already passed member (Neiwill) posted a LOT of interesting WWII planes all ready for Poser... I used one of them (one of the most beautiful and not very known british fighters - In my opinion more beautiful than the ever mentioned Spitfire πŸ˜‰ ) see here: "www.renderosity.com/mod/gallery/westland-whirlwind-mk-i/2925781/"

Good luck and have fun with Neiwills planes

Thanks FurNose - I'll look into it. Whirlwind was pretty radical - twin engine bubble canopy with 4 20mm and lots of ammunition. Used a lot in low level Rhubarbs if I recall on account of the Peregrine engine performing poorly at high altitude. Wonder if any Peregrines are still running....

Bad memories for Londoners...at least for the older ones....I too used this HDRI ; you can make it look sharper in Photoshop before using it in DS.

Thanks gaius - don't have photoshop loaded. Did sharpen it a little in Windows which helped a little...

That is a few yards from where I live! Strange to see Notting Hill in the galleries, it doesn't happen often.

Censored history is dangerous, so I am with you there.
