well...tell us what you REALLY think, wolf! I agree with him, you have an indescribable way, a magic that makes images into utter surprises, and for all the work you put into them, they come from a deep wellspring inside of you, and that wellspring is wondrous and as organic as it gets. I love the gears first of all, it's kind of a city, only (a little like Escher), its 'planes' shift as we move through it. A really swooping ride through a city of gears and squared off connectors...But then you add the woman and cat (steampunk---I was right about that! they look like they're in a 1904 stage production) and I would never have pictured them in this piece; but they're like visitors who've found their niche (literally) and fit in perfectly. The woman is amost poised on a mountainside---posing for cameras---and I love the cat way up on the left, hiding out as cats do. Gotta love that hat too. (And the woman's dress has long tails---she might wanna keep an eye on it: In that place, one snag and she could be caught for weeks...). And there's your signature, hidden in the shadows! (I knew my piece, yesterday, was 'done' when I mentioned your signature, because that, for me, gave it its final christening.) Wonderful piece, barb, and you use sepia and brown tones in perfect contrast to all those grays, whites and blacks. Another magical piece...these things drop out of the sky like revelations; wolf was right on.
