It's Friday! enjoy your weekend all. with my new stores they gave me i'm down to 8 to 10 hours a week now. i'm thinking about applying for SS benefits at age 64, will be 65 in may. might wait till 65. and just might quit my job if i can get a good amount of them.

well after my dearest mothers visit to her doctor, her back is not getting any better. but the doctor said she no longer needs to wear her brace while being in the house, only for going out for appointments and riding in cars. she might need a injection to her spine with something to raise her spine in the damaged area or something like that. i was not with her at the doctors, my sister was. but moms happy that she no longer needs to wear it all day.

Its great news that you are considering retirement, being at that stage in your life where actual serious consideration should be taken. Perhaps after careful reevaluation you might want to do it sooner rather than later or as you say, just wait till your B-day!
The best quote I ever heard from a co-worker on his last day at work prior to retiring was..."a man's got to know when its time to go!" Those were the last words I shared with him and then he was gone! I leave you with that same though in mind Steve...you'll know when its time to go! Take care and be well my friend! :-)

I started collecting SS when I turned 65, and worked until 2017 when I turned 69. I just put the SS in a savings account and left it alone until I retired. Glad I did...

A somewhat different Crow that I recall, but a nice one.
Considering that the age of retirement here has risen to 67, 65 sounds good and if you can afford it, go for "nearly 65". Maybe gives you some more time to look after your mum.
