Description
Hello everyone. I've had a flu for several weeks now. So I've not been at my best. But today is Ute's birthday (UteBigSmile) (her 75th!!!). So I wanted to post something for her.
This isn't as 'grand' as I wanted it to be...but at least it's my hometown, with people on the street and lots of colors. (Please zoom, they're quite large.) Ute does so many creative urban images, I wanted to do one for her. I'm sorry it's not more elaborate, but I tried to turn "people walking down the street" into a small visual carnival.
I love Ute's gallery...Honestly, she doesn't seem to have any limits: She creates modern urban scenes, 19th Century scenes, ancient scenes, wild fantasy, humor, touching reality, and then she goes 'avant garde' and creates these graphic-design pieces that one expects to find in a New York or Paris art studio...She's so creative, and I've always had the feeling that Ute creates from deep intuition, and then she "fleshes it out" with technique, color, form, balance, etc.
Unfortunately, she's had one medical setback after the next, and she's battled pain constantly: I only hope that the pain and constant struggle gets easier, better, and less intense with time. She deserves that. That's part of my birthday wish for her.
Happy Birthday, Ute! (And btw: You gave your birth-date in your gallery, so I hope you don't mind my mentioning "75": It's a grand number, and you're a grand person!) (Besides, I'm 72, so I understand something about being in our 70s...) Thank you for your endless inspiration and always creative artworks, and for your daily kindness and for remembering everyone here all the time. I wish you a wonderful and rich holiday, and I hope 2022 is much better for you than 2021 was. Love, blessings and all good health to you, Mark
(I'm commenting a little at a time...I'll get to you all, one by one)

I am totally overwhelmed by so much honour, dear Mark, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for remembering my birthday, 75 years, and if we add your 72 years, it's 147 years, the good old Methuselah could "almost" be envious, let's be honest, we are only just entering our prime, if it weren't for the annoying little aches and pains! Once again, thank you very much for your effort and great plea! 😄👍

Happy Birthday, Ute! This is great, Mark. The colors are happy and playful just like so many of Ute's renders. The top scene is bright and bold and the bottom one is playful and it looks like something a painter would have done; so many fun colors and brush strokes. Your images are always so interesting and I always love discovering hidden things. You managed to take the proper, and very dark, outfit of the woman in the center and give her a trippy, tie-dyed outfit straight out of the 60s. (She's even wearing a poncho) That's so cool!

As always, Mark, you have taken a common city street scene, and rebirthed it (is that a word? It is now... 😉) into a sparkling jewel of an image for a very special artist, and a very special occasion! A lovely dedication to a wonderfully talented and creative artist, and one of the first friends to welcome me to Rendo all those years ago. It's a special time for those of us with 7 decades under our belts.
I too hope Ute can enjoy the coming years in no pain, and just being able to immerse herself into her artwork to delight us all. And I hope that rotten little flu bug goes away, leaves you alone, and gets run over by a CTA bus. LOL
