Description
Hi everyone.
This is just a little image I did to capture the feeling of "lights in the midst of the dark season". The ancients looked in the sky, this time of year, and celebrated light and how it seemed to stand still in the darkness. Thus the term "solstice," which literally means "the sun stands still," or more generally, "the light never goes out".
I hit rock-bottom this season, from a few years of losses, from a drudgerous return to the marketplace (esp in writing), from covid everywhere in my huge city and in the world, and from getting the flu and being laid up the last few weeks...I'm just tired now; not complaining, just explaining.
As a result, my comments are only coming a few a day, because I get really tired from everything these days. I adore being with your work, but I'm way slow now. The flu---just normal non-covid flu---has always done me in...and, at age 73, this one just stopped me in my tracks. It's gone now, but I'm still regaining my strength.
So please know I'll get to you but over a long time...and uploads will be very late...But I want to send all of you my love, my deepest wishes for wholeness and inspiration this holiday season and through all of 2023. I know so many of you have gone through craziness this last few years, and life has gotten very burdensome everywhere.
But, as an old sage said, "why look for miracles in heaven when there are countless under your feet?"
I wish you all miracles: not the kind that part seas, but the ones that come in small sparks of love, intimacy, and all-blessing light that, in a mere moment, can lift days and weeks of darkness. I wish you lots of those. I'll post again, but in case I'm late, I wanna send this to you now with the wish that you all be guided by the light that follows you wherever you go; which, if you don't see it, it will always see you. And thank you so much for all the love and inspiration you've given me throughout the years: It's been invaluable to me, and always will be. A wonderful holiday to you all, with love and light and all kinds of miracles---the real miracles---in 2022, Mark

"lights in the midst of the dark season" ...... Indeed.
And one of the brightest of those lights, my friend, is YOU. This beautiful explosion of light and color is what I see in my mind's eye whenever I see "anahata.c" in my upload notifications. These are indeed dark days - the darkest I can ever remember - right up there with 9-11. But you still manage to not only see the light, but to tuck it away in your pocket, then get it out to share with us all.
We desperately need a few billion more anahata.c s in this sad world.
You just concentrate on getting your rest, buddy - those comments can come when you feel like it. We're the same age, and I can relate, Mark. Sometimes it's a challenge just getting out of bed! (Speaking of which, if you need a good sleep inducer, I just posted my last BTS of 2021 on my YT channel. If that doesn't put you to sleep, nothing will! LOL - I even gave you a little shout-out.. 😁 You can access it from my website..)
Hope you have a wonderful Holiday, Mark - one filled with all the light, color, and love you share with all of us. May it come back to you a billion times over!

a most eye pleasing job on this Mark, wowow! the way the vibrant colors flow and blend in with the golden background are beautiful. i'm sure the ancients did not see as much beauty you have created. sorry about your loses this year and only can imagine how much you went through my friend. with all that you have went through you still have done wonderful things for me and the community. i will be around to view your works no matter how late you post them, as long as the good lord keeps me here. i agree with Rod on a billion of you, the world i guarantee, yes lots of rest, your health and wellness is priority over posts and comments and writing back on my emails my friend. i watch my dear mother rest allot at her 86 years of age.
and i say the miracles, really great ones should flow your way my friend. i'll take part of the tail end of one. but also saying so you are a miracle Mark. God Bless and again cool image and thank you.
Merry Christmas***********

This is a splendid and uplifting image, the colors are bright, happy and hopeful. The image rises out of light to spread light into the darkness. That's beautiful!
I wish you light, happiness, health and so much more, too, Mark. You have a caring and beautiful soul. Thank you for being a friend, you mean a lot to me. Rest, take care of yourself; you've been through a lot and you deserve to rest and relax as the year draws to a close. Comments can wait. Art can wait. Being good to yourself is always more important.
We've learned a lot about the people of the world these past few years, and you have been a steady beacon of light and friendship through it all. My year-end wish for you is that you feel the love sent back your way. Love from me and from your other friends here, too. ((hugs)) and blessing of the season are being sent to you from the heart.

If your idea of uploading this image, was to light the darkness of the season...well you not only did that, but you lit up the whole gallery with this beautiful work of art Mark! This image is colorful and bright and a perfect way to put an exclamation point to the type of year we have all been having my friend!
Its nice to hear that the flu you have had is finally leaving you...this is not the type of guest one wants to have, especially when your body is the host to this pesky intruder. I hope life in the coming year is better for you. I think taking it easy and getting lots of rest is quite often the best course of action going forward, as it gives your body time to recuperate from having been the host to this unwelcome flu.
My recommendation to you is to try to take it easy and give your body all the peace and tranquility that it needs to recharge itself. Listen to some calming beautiful music...the type that replenishes the soul with listening pleasure! I have a feeling there is a good chance that this next year might turn out to be as challenging as the one we are about leave. One needs to stay vigilant and do whats best for oneself during these difficult and trying times. Sometimes time away from something you enjoy, gives one's self a whole new perspective on life.
Christmas is almost upon us and the new year will soon follow after...you have my best wishes for you throughout this coming year! My number one wish out of the three, (the magic genie in the lamp would let me have) is for you to stay in good health my friend! May this coming year be filled with more positive experiences that are enjoyable and add to all the wonderful memories you hold closest to your heart. Merry Christmas Mark! :-)
