Description
She had crawled slowly up the embankment. Remaining outside the radius of their lights, she had watched as they crammed things into one of their shuttles. She had seen the bodies placed within cases as well. Like cockroaches in the dark, feeding on the deceased.
She had an almost overwhelming urge to rush down and rip their beating hearts from their very chests, but her vengeance was aiming at a much higher level of carnage and destruction for them.
"Four teams will head out early." She could easily over hear their conversations from her advantage point. "Team five will them proceed unnoticed to the tunnel." The short haired woman was stating.
"That should keep them busy trying to keep track of four teams." The bald man glanced up from positioning the body within the case. "Five hours, round trip and unloading." He closed the lid and seal the case. "Should be back well before that Federation guy even rolls over."
"I have a distraction in store just in case." She nodded. "We have to play this very carefully."
"We've managed worse." He chuckled as he waved over a tall black guy who was packing another crate of items. "We'll get these loaded and out of here."
"The sooner, the better." She stopped suddenly, glancing about the compound and into the darkness. "I've got this strange feeling I can't figure."
"None of your strange feelings." He shook a finger at her. He turned back to the case. "First trip out."
"We'll wait two days before making another." She nodded. "Stay clear of their cargo module out there."
"I'll keep the planet between them and us."
She narrowed her eyes, watching as they loaded the cases in the shuttle. Within moments, the shuttle was away. The short hair woman glanced back into the darkness for a moment, and then proceeded from the area.
Two days. The hidden woman thought to herself. An escape route is available then.
She glanced back over her shoulder, into the fog shrouded forest and the majestic dark mountain in the distance. She was going to miss home.
