I enhanced the picture to show more depth. Yellowstone is like this all over. they have signs up everywhere to stay on the paths and or the wooden walkways

Beautiful image!
A lot of people don't know how dangerous it is to step off the paths. There's boiling mud under a thin crust in some places.
And if you decide to bath in certain of the springs, it will not merely boil you alive, but then the chemicals in the water will dissolve the body afterward.

not forgetting bears and bison's. My younger sister was going up there once a week to shoot fotos of bears

Been there a couple of times - a fantastic and beautiful place. And yeah.... If you fall into one of those pools you're done. Like a boiled lobster. Definitely stay on the boardwalks..

Very famous place and nice photo. Reminds me the Erta Ale volcano in Ethiopia which shows also nice colors and is as dangerous as this one;
