Description
Finally completed an asset and texture bash for Miss Molly addressing some of the intended themes. Here Vanessa Ives researches leads regarding her possession while The Creature admires her scantily clad backside in preparation for whatever might ensue. The Creature received the casting call as the vampires and demons were either unavailable or Covid positive. Those looking closely might see how little he minds...
It took longer than expected to decide on the setting and props. Ended up with Collective3d's 'Victorian Parlor' on account of its overall layout and the adjoining corridor. It's a bit smaller than Murray's study/parlor in 'Penny Dreadful' and lacks a number of features I'd have included, but it's a pretty good asset and worked out fine. A lot of my thirty-plus added and created detail items were dropped to accommodate composition and camera angle. Hated losing most of the gothic art jpeg'd onto picture frames. Only the 'Lady of Shalott' can sorta be seen in the hallway. Lighting was interesting - tried SY's new "Invisilights' to simulate early electric globes which were easy to use and worked out fairly well after a bit of tweaking in exposure, saturation, etc.
Blew up the scene after posting and wasn't quite happy with the drink tray textures but editing and re-rendering will cut into what's next. I think we started with steampunk and a really neat 'Verne-ish' hot air balloon went on sale...

A magnificent scene, my friend! Superbly fine details and lighting! A great way to display this very fine character and her admirer in the background! Excellent results! Easily 5 stars from me!

Thanks radar - was a lot of fun to set up for an artist who is worth the effort :)
ahnada
It looks in such a calm environment with different Posing, an interesting Creative on this, Isn't it? Very good work.
jdwtrxk
Thanks ahnada - if The Creature gets his way things will become quite lively :)

Wow! Certainly worth waiting for, my dear. You've set up my favorite sort of implied peril. The level of detail is wonderful giving me a lot to admire. The lighting feels very real to me. Having already seen the characters I already knew I was going to like what you did with them. I have to say that the translucent gown is inspired! I'd give it more than two thumbs up except I have only the normal human allotment of thumbs. Thank you so much for the dedication! <3

My pleasure Molly - thanks for giving me direction when it was sorely needed. Was fun to do and I kept the scene in cache to do others down the road. Still want to do some exteriors with our girl Vanessa and maybe some friends.
Was just in DAZ playing with the steampunk airship. Sorta reminds me of Scorseby's in the Dark Materials' universe - small, cramped with machinery and a floor for accommodation. I'll need to play with materials and textures to make it a little more aerodynamically feasible but it's gorgeous. Wish it was Poser also - you'd have a ball with this one!
Come to think of it, Eva Green played Serafina Pekkela in the "Golden Compass" adaptation...she'd fit right in. Wonder why somebody with Sangriart's or Tempesta's talent hasn't done Sam Elliot? Lots of western fans still out there...
Annerose
Some admireres lokk a little bit different. But she, reading in her book, seems to be to absorbed to be afraid. Very well done!
jdwtrxk
Thanks Annerose - this admirer is indeed worthy of concern...

Room decor, model and lighting are magnificent. A great dedi for a wonderful artist. 🍻❤
jdwtrxk
Thanks, and yes Yes, Molly is indeed a 'Lady of Rendo.'
gaius
Exacly what I like the most : a picture which tells a story posted by an artist whose talent is impressive...great dedi too.
jdwtrxk
Thanks gaius - one of these days I might add some prose, but thinking it might make things worse :)
romangirl
Beautiful scene!
jdwtrxk
Thanks romangtirl - was a lot of fun pushing and pulling props here and there and fiddling with textures. Thanks to Sangriart, Vanessa was the easy part!
giareg
A masterpiece!
jdwtrxk
Thanks giareg was fun and for a good purpose.
paul_gormley
delightful lighting and actually quite scary when you zoom to full size to appreciate the squatting figure, the room comes across really well as period
jdwtrxk
Thanks paul - the base setting was 'Victorian Parlor' which is quite versatile with its attached hallway. Most of the other bits were pulled from other Victorian assets. The creature is a pretty horrible looking dude...
Was fun. need to do more but running into the 'other things need doing first' and the 'can't choose what to do' maladies concurrently.
fritters56
nicely done !
jdwtrxk
Thanks fritters - was fun and for a worthy artist!
