did you ever have experiences with certain foods, where if you have them in your house, you'll eat them? I mean foods that are super fattening, or that you know you shouldn't eat a lot of, but if they're 'there', so you just have to eat them---like opulent chocolate or pastries? Well, subtract the "fattening" part, the "not good for you in excess" part (I have yet to put on a pound from your art!), and your art has been that for me. When you upload, if I can't comment right away, I feel that the art is calling me, like a tray of very special treats sitting in the other room, its fragrance wafting under my nose as I sit here nursing a back....This is a misty fantasy of real beauty, I love the purple haze (good name for a rock song!) and its mystical feeling, and horses beautifully stomping away with that huuuuge moon---in yellows and reds (which are so different from the palette of the rest of the work, and which therefore make it stand out), and a shooting star, and a big blast of nebulae or galaxy clusters (which we don't normally see in the sky, from earth). And those primal trees in the background and full trees in the fore...with a feeling that the horses go back for miles like they came out of some deep place in the universe and we're lucky enough to see them whoosh by for a moment in time. And you have your signature birds to the left...This is caressingand beautiful, and yet another total changeup from the preceding image. I've come to realize that one of the key elements of your work (in addition to your technique, intuitive management of so many elements, your colors, forms, imagination, and so on), is love...a sense that you present all these images with the care and tenderness of one who's mothered them and prepared them so they'll be they're very best for the world. Did you know that the word "curate" and "curator" comes from the same root as "care"? You exude care in your work, even in the smallest and most intimate pieces---they come to us as if you made them for your own children, as keepsakes to have all their lives. That's something I couldn't verbalize, but oh is it true. And it's one of the reasons I feel I have to get to them, like this special gift in the other room waiting for us to come and partake of its delicacies...Another beauty from you that whispers through the screen from a deep and beautiful internal world...
