a big turnaround, into a misty, almost new england coast pier scene, with an ominous storm in the background, and a real pirate-like guy guarding the pier. I think he's carrying some major weaponry too, I don't think anyone's gonna mess with him...I love that sampan-like boat in the background, and the rocks in the sea, and the underside of the pier---lots of mystery and shadow here...and that craggy mound on the right, with a very dark lodge and light-tower. It's like a medieval version of the Maine Coast, or Gloucester etc...with your signature birds, and a mysterious moon. Great mood piece, barb: It's the kind of scene that, if anyone were to stay the night (for food and shelter), they'd hope they'd be alive in the morning...hopefully that pirate guy will protect them. Love the dark, brooding mood...(aye, mateeee...we're gonna speer the mightee whale...)
