Description
It had taken over an hour to establish a link with a trades commission officer; and it only seemed to get worse from that point on.
"Orpheus?" The mans voice crackled back through the communications overhead speakers.
"Correct." Navarre responded with a sigh. "I have transmitted my vessels identification codes and verified."
"A salvage vessel?"
"Not a salvage vessel; a salvaged vessel. I have been operating in the outer regions." Navarre repeated again.
"You will need an operators license and registry to operate within the inner systems." The man responded curtly.
"Yes." Navarre rolled his eyes with annoyance. "So you have informed me. That is what I am trying to attain now." He was rapidly losing patience with this commissions officer. "You have my registry and identifier codes. My name and operating history. What else is required?"
"You will require an inspection validation to be submitted by any port authority."
"Thank you." Navarre could feel his Klingon upbringing trying to push forward. "Once the inspection has been filed, how long before I get my operators permits?"
"Usually about six hours to twenty four hours. You will be required to remain at the port where you receive your inspection until you get the permits."
"Easy enough then."
"Good luck, Privateer." The man stated, at which point Navarre punched the button to terminate the signal a little too forcefully, feeling the small switch snap within.
"Lovely." He leaned back in his chair. "I hate humans." Another trait of his Klingon upbringing.
