Bay continues telling Mab the secret story of Cubes and Kings: Laom Uhrain was the young King of the Tribes of Plenty and he was deeply anxious. He paced back and forth across the stone floor of his private office. Loam felt hot and sweaty with anxiety and took off his shirt. His powerful chest muscles rippled and flexed around his necklace of Kingship. He touched the necklace of Kingship and caressed it with his fingertips. Contact with the ceremonial necklace gave him strength. He had been in difficult negotiations with King Olar of the Northern Tribes. Peace depended on the outcome. "World peace!" Loam thought. "It might actually happen! But despite what a good man Olar is, I can't shake this feeling of darkness that hangs over me! It's as if something precious and unique is about to be stolen from me!" Even as Loam tried to push the negative thoughts from his mind, a strange glow of orange light began to glow in front of his path. The shimmering colors hummed and began to form into the shape of a woman! Loam recognized her from his years of being tutored and his own private nightmares! "NO! NO!" Loam yelled. "Savante Tas, the dreaded one!" Savante Tas, Beautiful Queen of the Ancients Ones, had materialized in front of him! Her golden leaf crown glowed, lighting her face and forehead in bright yellow as she glared at Loam menacingly. "The dreaded one!" Savante spat. "How dare you address me like that! I am a Queen and The Supreme Leader of all the Ancient Ones!" "I can't believe your real!" Loam answered. "I prayed you were just a myth!" "No! I am very real" Savante said. "Who did you pray to?" "The One True God!" Loam answered. "The Creator!" She reached out and touched Loam's shoulder with her black gloved hand. Loam screamed in pain! A wound appeared where Savante had touched him. "Once your people practically worshiped me!" Savante said. "What you did to the people of the Plenty is legendary!" Loam said. "We've never forgotten your cruelty!" "You haven't even begun to feel my cruelty if you don't stop this peace agreement right now!" Savante Tas demanded. "Why? You Ancient Ones left us so long ago! We have only drawings and legends that say you grew bored with us!" Loam answered. "Why would you care?" "How dare you question me!" Savante yelled. "You answer to me! You obey me! I want you to betray Olar the wall rat! Wage war on the north! Bring chaos and destruction down on him and his people!" "Olar?" Loam said, his face twisted in shock and disgust. "He is a King! Why would you call him that?" "He hid out and lived in the walls of a monastery. His only friends were the rats that lived in the walls." Savante laughed. "We ancients had much entertainment watching his plight. You will stop his good works! You will make the wall rat suffer like no one has before!" "Never!" Loam said as he turned his back to Savante defiantly. "Olar is my friend! As you say, even the rats loved him! I won't betray him!" "You dare refuse my command?!" Savante asked with a hiss. Loam put his hand to his forehead and ignored her. "Then you and all people of the Plenty will be punished!!" Savante screamed in rage. "We will take what is yours and make merchandise of it.
