Description
Poor Mrs. Mop. With four sets of muddy paw prints in our own kitchen, I know the feeling!
==AMY’S NOTES==
OMG, this set is maddening! You go to hide one element, like the stereo, and half the set’s elements disappear! Try to hide a rug and the other half disappears. Good luck changing the window materials! Why would you put together a set this inflexible? I have older sets from this vender (not on Rendo) that aren’t this frustrating. And don’t get me started on trying to light it for a Firefly render. Postwork art effects to the rescue!
Rendered in February 2022 using Firefly in Poser Pro 11 for Mac at 3200 × 1800 pixels. Art effects applied in Painnt. View full size on my blog.
==CREDITS==
SCENE: Shabby Chic Kitchen; a few items from Northern Terrace Kitchen; mop, bucket, and bottle from Mrs. Mop outfit.

Despite all of the trouble that you had rendering this scene, I bet the kitchen will be spotless by the time Mrs. Mop is done cleaning! I bet you wish that you could hire her!

Thank you for the comment! In the universe of this kitchen and this moment, Mrs. Mop's work is soon to be done. But the idea I originally had for the scene included some little monsters tracking muddy prints across the floor, to illustrate just how "never done" kitchen cleaning is. That idea didn't work out with this set for various reasons. But perhaps Mrs. Mop will be at it again, in a DIFFERENT kitchen :-) And yes, can I hire her, please!!

tremendous style of a render. came out super.

It was worth all the hair pulling. Just darling. Pink and green are some of my faves together.

Just remind me not to use this kitchen again, unless I want to do a scene from this exact same angle :-) I set up the scene to have a fair amount of pink and green, but the art effect filter I chose really amped up those colors, in a good way!

Things disappearing when you change something...ugh, the frustration with Poser and with certain products can drive you insane at times. But when you see the final render the satisfaction is immense. I love this adorable little scene, and Vila is so adorable!! Thank you for making me smile today. :)

Glad I could bring you a smile, RubyTuesday! I find the results charming, but oy, this set! I hesitated to complain about it here, but I kinda want to warn anyone else you might've considered it. The reason half the scene elements disappear when you try to hide one thing is that they're ALL ONE OBJECT! If I really cared, I could go through and break out the elements using Poser's Grouping Tool, but I have too many well-made prop sets to bother any more with this one :-)

Fine scene. I like the high key style.

Great posing and style!

This is a delight!! I'm glad you fought it down!!

The fruits of stubborn persistence :-) Not gonna let a bunch of polygons boss me around! Much.

Wow you pulled off a great stylized scene. Would never know all the trouble you had to go through but it all paid off. beautiful work!

Thanks, poser4me! I'm glad to have gotten at least one use out of that kitchen, I suppose. But I'm also glad I wasn't hoping to use it for one of my story characters' kitchens b/c it would've been a nightmare to use if I'd needed to get multiple camera angles! (I started using Poser around 2014 to make scenes for a graphic novel, which is what I mean by "story characters" -- I ended up getting distracted by making random renders like this one, which aren't part of any ongoing story :-)

Beautiful. I love the style and color use.

You can tell that you didn't give up on your vision despite the limitations of the content you were working with. I so feel your pain! =) I really like the color scheme. I'm not very good at that and always admire a good job. Thank you for sharing!

Thanks, Molly! I'm generally pretty good natured about the props and sets I use, esp. since I tend to get them on sale AND I know how much work vendors put into them. I don't mind having to do some work to get a set looking good, although I do get annoyed at some kinds of basic mistakes. The way this set was put together wasn't a basic mistake, though, but possibly a rush job to meet a deadline and w/o any user testing, b/c so many things about it don't make sense from an end user's perspective. Mrs. Mop is just relieved that she'll only ever have to clean this kitchen once!! :-)

Whatever trouble you had, thanks for seeing it through - this is great! Love the composition and color palette. Love the color in her and the curtains. The wallpaper is fantastic!
This is really great work!

Thank you for the comment! The scene already had some nice shades of pink and green, but I really love what the art effects app brought out in the textures and colors. Using art effects opens up so many more possibilities for renders!!
