Nice image...:) It really is a good one Ute - the pastel teal walls set a nice tone against the happy family - a better scene than Yekaterinburg....

Super lovely scene! You did a great job with the posing, costumes and expressions! I love the blurred edges, too.

oh thank you, Ute. I greatly appreciate your dedi. Your image is beautiful...and you portray something so sad. Royal children are almost always innocent...yet, when they're murdered (as the children of the house of Romanov were, during the Russian Revolution), they become victims of their parents' horrors. One of your children looks at us with total bewildernment: the girl in the green dress and aurburn hair. Amazing expression. Her brother also looks bewildered. Maybe they know what their parents won't face. And of course you use your beautiful costumes and a beautiful background (something you do so well). Yet, you also faded the background---on the edges---as if to say: All this will disappear..."all glory is fleeting..." A powerful portrait of real life...even in the mansions of the emperors and empresses of the world.
I'm no historian, but I do value history as you do, and I agree we should all study it. And it should be written with truth in mind: Ie, glorifying empires and their leaders makes them heroes, when many of them did unspeakable things. The ancient Roman, Tacitus, told us that an ancient british general told a roman general: "You made our land a wasteland, and you called it peace..." That's why history's so important (they knew the truth all the way back then). Thank you for your effort in this very impressive image...and let's hope the world learns from the past, for the sake of so many bewildered children. Thanks so much, Ute, I greatly appreciate it.
