Description
Utla is a fairly forgiving boss, but sampling her precious potion to excess is apparently grounds for apprenticeship termination!
==AMY’S NOTES==
Would you believe I STILL haven’t shown all angles of this amazing set? The part shown here is labeled "shed" and is kind of an offshoot from the main room.
I tried to make the liquids look kinda like semi-opaque apple cider (or whatever was in Utla’s magnum opus potion), and I realize they came out a bit toony, but I guess that kinda works here!

But it looks like he has worked hard for a lot of years & he is ready to retire! Couldn't Utla forgive him?
perpetualrevision
Perhaps Utla will develop a soft spot for the lovable old gnome. But she also wants you to know that his beard was dark brown when he started as her apprentice, so clearly this was the last straw after a remarkably long apprenticeship! (Which is to say, I should've made his beard dark brown, so he wouldn't look so in need of retirement!)

Fantastic scene! I like the lights also. That set you will use sooooooo much!

I've got at least one more coming, when Utla's brother comes to visit (and shows off the corner of the scene I haven't yet featured). But then there are all the different camera angles I could try! And all the props I could move around or rearrange! So much fun :-)

A marvelous set that you have put to extraordinary good use! Excellent views in all your examples! Very wonderful one here! Many fine kudos and praises from me on this one!
perpetualrevision
Thanks for the comment! I have at least one more angle of the set to show in an upcoming scene!
eekdog
fabulous props use. and super atmo .

The room is quite obviously a cider press given the mechanism and the box of apples. Living in Virginia growing apples and making cider is a serious enterprise heading west toward the foothills of theBlue Ridge. Nice image!
perpetualrevision
I added the apple crate and the apples inside the press using a prop from Faveral's Medieval Shop, but I'm glad to know the press itself looks plausible as a cider press! Thanks for the comment!

Awww poor little guy is so tired! Lovely image with a fantastic atmosphere. Wonderful!
perpetualrevision
More like drunk, from sampling all the potion! I don't know why but I always enjoy making Hein look drunk :-) Thank you for the comment!

To much beer, now Uncle Albert is snoring - Lol!
perpetualrevision
Indeed. Utla can hear him snoring from clear across her compound! Thanks for the comment (and the chuckle)!

Hey it looks good, I'm tempted to pop a paper bag next to his ear. :-)
perpetualrevision
Poor Hein! He's such a good sport to put up with all the crazy things we want to do to him. I can totally see his startled expression and attempt to sit up after you pop that paper bag :-)

Looks like he has had a very long day. Wonderful image
perpetualrevision
Indeed, another long day of taking rather long draughts of a potion he's supposed to be tending, not sampling! Poor Hein. I seem fond of posing him like he's drunk :-) Thanks for the comment!

Hard cider, I guess. I wouldn't feel too bad about the cider coming out more like coffee with cream as the rest of the picture is SO excellent. I love the waxy SSS of the candles! Really nicely composed and lit to use the surrounding to tell the story of overindulgence and resultant intoxicated slumber. =)
Thanks for sharing!

perpetualrevision
Thanks for the comment, Molly! Definitely some kind of hard cider, which perhaps hit Hein a bit harder than he was expecting after only two mugfuls :-)

What a delightful Image!! Pity he earned his staggering papers here!
perpetualrevision
I suspect Hein has earned his staggering papers many, many places :-)
