Description

Modelling/render: Strata 3D Pro 3.71 Post work: Ulead PhotoImpact 8 Model is from 3D Cafe.. not me (I only wish I could model this well). Meet Ed. For those of you who DON'T remember Robocop, the movie, Ed was supposed to be Robo's replacement. Never quite made it, cuz Robocop's humanity survived, making him a better bet for the policing of the human race, relegating the technically superior "Ed" to the junk pile. So, I textured up Ed and made him look like he's been stored away and not used for many years. Still looks mighty ominous, though, doesn't he, after all those years in moth balls? This was loads of fun. Raytraced rendering at 2200 x 1600, 72 dpi, 4 pixel oversampling, AA on. One spotlight. Rust textures are mine.. wall is from Strata Cafe (Strata Guru Michael Luscombe's Metal panels), and the floor came with Strata Pro. Post work consisted of resampling the image down to 800 pixels wide, applying a thin border, and then .jpg compression/optimizing for upload to galleries. Hope you all enjoy. Happy New Year to all.

I can't look at Ed without recalling the time he got his foot stuck in an open manhole. Ah, the memories ... good job with the rust effect.
