Description


I made this photo in a kind of Regional Museum, where they have kept everything to interior and utensils, which used to be used in the household on a farm. As you can see, people were very religious, in here in Limburg usually Catholic. But * giggle * I also see the mats beater on the wall; this wasn't only used to beat mats, but one threatened their children with it, to give them a beating on their buttocks. Thank you very much for your look.

yes, I can see the religious symbols here. A big beautiful crucifix (with a small one underneath it); some religious icons; books that look like bibles, and even a painting of Jesus with his halo and gown. It's a beautiful old wall---at first I thought it was from your home---rhen I read your description...it has wonderful character. (I thought a lot of the Netherlands and the other Germanic countries were more Protestant than Catholic, but I obviously don't know the cultural and religious makeup of the area.) I love those white bricks. They give light to these beautiful old artifacts...
