Description
The woman in black smiled. "You're sure you can't be persuaded to voluntarily participate in my studies of metahumans, Alice? You are foremost among and perhaps the mightiest of science heroine in River Heights. And..." She paused coyly. "...you're my sister although I've been quite willing to maintain your privacy and keep that bit confidential."
The Blue Koi sighed and smiled wryly. "No, Lilly. You know that I can't co-operate with you. I simply don't approve of what you're doing to our Mother Earth. No need to be my enemy, but I'm afraid we remain opposed."
"Black" Lilly chuckled throatily. "Mother Earth? Pffft. At least our true parents would be pleased that we're not in open combat over this."
The Blue Koi shook her had sadly. "I don't know what our parents would say were they alive..." Her voice trailed off in reverie.
Molly's art notes: This was set up and rendered in Poser Pro Game Dev using Firefly then tweaked a bit in Photoshop about 8 years ago. The characters are both based on Victoria 4 and represent my original characters the Blue Koi (aka Alice Mollus, professor at River Heights University) and "Black Lilly" Mollus (head of Molltech; an inventor and entrepeneur along the lines of Elon Musk only much, much more evil). They are twin sisters, the last of the Mollus line, and Lilly has been willing to respect Alice's secret identity as a science heroine fighting for good and the green earth. Lilly has earned her sobriquet as "Black Lilly" fairly and might be thought of as a female Lex Luthor. As I played both of these characters at the same time I had to have two viewers open into Second Life and be extra special careful not to insert the lines of one into the other's mouth. XD

Second life! I remember trying that out shortly after it started. I didn't get very far. Ran out of patience after about a week or two. I just wasn't dedicated enough to create and maintain a character that was interesting to anyone else. LOL! Now here is a pair to draw to though! Excellent work on these fine sisters! Love their back story!

Heh. Second Life does have a pretty steep learning curve. It helps to have friends of which I had plenty in world at the time. It's a pretty limited tool for 3D art compared to Poser so I don't spend much time there these days. I have to admit that the role playing stories in which I participated show up a lot in my Poser work. I suppose I should credit my many co-authors. XD

Yeah, I enjoyed playing the characters in Second Life and built them to be exactly opposite: Alice so sweet she'd give you diabetes and Lilly so venal and mean she'd steal candy from babies. XD
Thanks for commenting and I am thinking of reworking the models a bit and doing some more pictures of these two. I have a lot of old ones and may share one more of them which I hope you'll enjoy. "Good Times, Bad Times you know I've had my share..."

Nice to see these two characters again...and it's a cool scene, considering this is an 8 year old render, "Black Lilly" outfit textures and materials have some really nice details, shame you can't do a comparison then and now....always a pleasure you sharing your work...looking forward to seeing more in the future...!!

Thank you, DG. I am in the process of tweaking textures and such to bring these two and some related characters into my present work. I'm thinking of a comic book style story but am a bit handcuffed by TOS... >.<

Thanks. The scaled armor on my science heroine seems a bit gaudy now, and might look a bit more refined as I retexture these two for some new pictures and stories. "Black Lilly" 's outfit will not require much refinement, though. =)

Thanks for the feedback. I'm going to be working with all my textures for these two to bring them up to the state of the art. The blue scale armor on my science heroine is one of my main targets. XD

Uh oh, I don't think this is going to end well for the Blue Koi! Her sister wants her to "voluntarily participate," which implies that if she doesn't volunteer, there might be other means of securing her participation! Will we ever find out what made Black Lilly turn to the dark side?!
Scene looks pretty good for 8 years ago! Good thing you rendered big enough. Back then I was probably still rendering at around 1k. But as monitors improve, that starts to look smaller and more pixel-blurry. Your image looks pretty sharp, even on my brand new 16" MacBook Pro! (Sadly, some folks' smaller renders don't hold up as well on a high-res screen.)

Thanks so much, Amy. I was used to letting things render overnight so that I'd have high resolution and sharp images. One of the best things these days is having a better computer and having things render in only a fraction of that time. =)
As for the sisters their rivalry goes way back and it's the story I'm thinking of telling when I'm done refining their textures. I'm thinking another stab at graphic novel style story-telling and maybe managing to stay within TOS this time. >.<

Thank you for your kind words! I think the Blue Koi's scaled armor needs an update but I've always liked these costume ideas and will be improving the textures so that these characters may see more action. =)
