Description

Or... Stay behind me, it might be dangerous. I'm still working out the details of the next story. I wrote the first chapter, but I didn't like the direction it was going, so I'm kind of doing a visual storyboard for myself and imaging a different plot than I originally intended. I've done this for most of the stories I've written. When I figure out who Ren really is, I'll rewrite the first chapter. But for now, I don't have a handle on this character yet, he's being elusive. Ren's little brother's name is Toma.

A very dangerous situation. Good faces and cat pose. The tension here feels real.

Looks like things might get a little tense... Awesome work!

It's a process, isn't it? I really don't do much story-boarding. I'll just scribble ideas down, sift through them for the best movement of the story-line, and maybe do a few quick-and-dirty small renders, just to get positions/ poses / lighting close, then work up the full size render. (Which I need to get busy on..).

I would not hazard a guess as to any direction to take for Ren! I believe in the genius of your muse who has not steered you wrong in the slightest thus far! Give it plenty of room and I have every confidence that your patience will be amply rewarded! Another fine storyboard image here! Coming along quite nicely! Bravo! Well done!

like some say above, you have real tensions here. Ren is protective---w/ such impressive wing spans---and Toma is hovering in the background, looking for protection. (He also looks like he's bending over, as if preparing to take prey.) You've textured your image---something you do often with real success---which makes it look like an etching, or a photograph that's been aged by time. You do that very well. The ground is almost montaged, like a cutout. The whole image feels like a cutout. Beautiful, and you're definitely showing more and more about these characters. Your storyboarding is giving us a glimpse into how your characters emerge. Very well done, Bob. (ps---i'm not sure 'montaged' is a word, but it is now, i guess) All the best on this amazing process of yours. It's great to see it flesh-out via your beautiful and intriguing images...

Awesome image! Ren seems quite fearless and protective of the little one. I think I'm going to like him.
