Description
While Gregor and Vladlena headed toward an interview with Professor Van Humbeek in an effort to secure Vladlena's status as student in the United States, Pixie, smitten with Vladlena returns to work. Pixie is a dreamer and a gamer and as she returns behind the counter of the coffee shop she finds herself projecting the pretty Russian and herself into a game she has recently been playing.
"I'm sorry," the Justiciar murmured as she leaned against the graceful warrior princess. "My magical power is exhausted!"
"Then we shall not die easily," the exotic warrior princess brandished her sword against the approaching Steam Angels. "These vile mechanisms will test the edge of the enchanted blade!"
"MISS DUST! PIXIE!" The pleasant day dream collapsed like pricked bubble. David Bates, the shift manager continued, "Customers! There are customers waiting!'
"OK, Davester, I'm on it!" Pixie replied.
"And don't call me that! From the likes of a clown like you I'd prefer Mr. Ba..."
Pixie sniggered. "Sorry, Davester. I can't call you that without the giggles." She scampered off to take care of the customers. The shift manager wondered what it was that made her so popular with the customers of the Independent Coffee Haven of River Heights.
Molly's art notes: Set up and rendered in Poser 12.0.757 using the Superfly Cycles 2 rendering engine and then tweaked a bit in Photoshop. Vladlena Bubnoff is a character based on the much neglected Bella 1.2 mesh by Ali (get it at his website, Mankahoo). David is based on D3. Patricia "Pixie" Dust is based upon the wonderful Project Evolution One by erogenesisCGI . The Day Dream includes Steam Angels by Summoner, Warrior outfit by Exnem and Justiciar from DAZ. The setting is by Blue Tree Studio.

What a fabulous daydream Pixie was having when she was so rudely interrupted by, of all things, customers! Actually, not by customers (who weren't so rude as to snap her out of it) but by the annoying shift manager, whose mostly exciting daydreams probably revolve around cleaning supplies :-) I love Pixie's expression and body language. She was definitely enjoying that daydream!

I'm glad you enjoyed Pixie's expression and her pose; she's rapidly becoming a favorite character of mine and she was only every meant to be kind of peripheral to my Van Humbeek's investigations stories. Since I work from a very loose outline in my head I find that sometimes my characters kind of take over and she's one that I will expect you'll see more of. Her simple enthusiasm and ability to live in the moment coupled with a naive sense of confidence in her own abilities makes her most attractive to me. She's not in the least like me. XD

Quite the daydream to say the very least.

When Pixie dreams she DREAMS! XD
Thanks for the encouragement, my dear. This was kind of a risky departure from the very realistic art style I've been using for this story. =)

Pretty ambitious setup on this one. Works, though :) .

Thanks, JD. As I noted to another commenter this was a risky departure from the very realistic style I've been using so far to tell this story. I'm glad it worked for you! =)

Heavy into dreaming instead off focusing on her work. Sounds like me. Great work Molly. 😁❤
MollyFootman
It's about the only I thing I share with Pixie: day-dreaming instead of getting any work done. XD
Glad I'm not the only one! =)

Beautiful work! Excellent!

Thanks! Using a "thought cloud" this way to sharing Pixie's dreaming with the viewer was a departure from the realistic style I've been using for the rest of the story. I really appreciate the kind encouragement! =)

So so so well done! Every detail is perfect! Can't wait to read more.

Thank you, Annie. My main story was to be about Vladlena but I've just fallen in love with Pixie and had to do this. XD

Well done! Good use of kitchen props and her sweet daydream smile is excellent.

Thank you for the lovely comment, my dear. I worked a bit on that expression and I confess that Pixie is becoming a favorite character of mine. She's not the least bit like me which may be why I enjoy working with her so much.

Love these priceless expressions! 😊
This graphic looks fantastic, I like it very much. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for all your visits and comments, to wish you a nice Sunday and a good start to the new week! I have spent the last week creating a graphic for each of my friends, including you, and I will be uploading it with your name on it from next Monday.

I'll have to get caught up, Ute. It's already Tuesday and I haven't looked to see what you have uploaded this week! Lots to look forward to, I'm sure! <3

Daydreaming ... great illustration and expressions!
MollyFootman
Thank you... the thought cloud with the day dream in it is a different style than the realistic look I've been using up to this point. I'm glad you found it effective and not jarring!

Love the dream bubble in the image. Me personally I would have some reservations about working anyone named "Mr. Bates". 😱😱
MollyFootman
Heh. Well, David Bates is the kind of dweeb everyone loves to hate on. Use of devices like dream bubbles is kind of risky when you (as an artist) have established a more or less realistic image style for a story. On the other hand, it's perfectly OK with comic book/graphic novel style presentation. In the end, I couldn't think of a better way to convey the rich fantasy world in which Pixie indulges. =)
