As always, things deteriorated into shouting matches and unveiled threats by rapidly inflating egos. "Milly, play nice now, do you hear?" the captain had warned before she went in. She had nodded noncommittally. Milly scoffed. No. They didn't bring her here to 'play nice'. No, no, no. They knew her history. They knew her style. If it were up to her, it would be the bad cop, terrible cop routine. Terrible, on a good day. Cop from hell, on a bad day. She chuckled softly. 'Play nice' indeed. 13 years ago, the word nice was erased from her vocabulary. Violated out of her, stomped into the ground. She was left for dead behind a dumpster. Bad cops, she was told later. How ironic she would end up as one, albeit bad in a different way. So bad she became one of the best, go figure. The shouting match finally ended, and she could feel eyes on her.
