The lead didn't seem solid on paper, but Milly always trusted her gut. And it told her it was worth following. Alone, if need be. "Dammit girl, don't go ballistic on me again," the captain wiped his forehead. "Wait for backup if something comes up." He pointed a finger to emphasize this. "Wait. For. Backup!" Again, Milly nodded nonchalantly. The captain gave her a hard look and walked away, muttering to himself. Milly couldn't suppress a grin. She was a loose cannon, and she embraced it. Say all they want, but the top people celebrated that fact just as well. If she did good, they'd share the credit. If things go south, they'd hang it around her pretty neck.
