I just wanted to let everyone know…. My posting and commenting is going to be pretty spotty / off-and-on for a while.
With my brother-in-law’s continuing medical roller-coaster of ups and downs, us helping and supporting his wife (my sis-in-law), our two nieces, along with all the other stuff we’re trying to do, it's kind of given my creativity a karate kick in the short & curlies.
He’s been in the hospital continuously for the last month and a half. He had to have a third surgery last Monday to fix a loose pin / screw in his hip that broke and started all this. It was a several hour surgery, and when the surgeon came out to talk to us afterward, his report was not good. Bill has a lot of issues going on in addition to the hip problem. He’s been diabetic for several years, and it’s taken its toll. He’s in ICU now, but he seems to be doing better. We saw him for a while today, and he was talking and reacting to his environment, but he’s just worn out from everything. He fell asleep shortly after we got there, but that’s the best thing for him right now.
We met a long-time friend for dinner this evening – it’s our 51st anniversary. That was a nice break in all the stuff going on.
Anyway, I’ll be catching up on comments the next day or so, and if I’m out for a few days, I’ll catch up as I can.

You don't have to justify your self. Things are going very odd sometimes and one could think it all comes together at once (I'm going my self through such phases on and off). In my feelings, I found that the older you get the more you are thrown into such things (kind of normal, if all of your friends and family members growing older too ;-) ).Such times are time and energy draining and then we have to priorize things and posting and commenting is not very high on that list. So do, what has to be done, stand with your friends and relatives and don't worry about us. We will stand by and "cover your six 'o clock".
I wish you and your wife lots of strength and energy in those times and hope, that your personal health condition got a little better. Anyway congrats to your 51st anniversary (what an achievement)!

Being diabetic, I understand how insidious the condition is... it robs the calcium from your bones as well as slowly devastating your body. Congratulations on your 51st anniversary!

Rod, you really don't need to explain yourself or your absence here on this site. You have a lot going on and you deserve a break and you also deserve to be there for your family with no explanations. I have to disappear when Mom needs more of my time, too, so I know the frustration of missing online things... but we need to tend to Real Life stuff, too, right? We support you whether you're online or not. Take care! I hope your brother-in-law feels better, soon. I'll be thinking of your whole family. Congratulations on 51 years!!!

Great work as always! It certainly sounds like you have so much happening in your life Rod...now may be a good time to take a step back from this site for awhile. At least till all the more important things in your life are given the attention they demand my friend.

Ditto Barb, very well stated...I'm very sorry for your brother-in-law, and for his family. And for Jo and you. I wish him all the best, and real comfort too. Three surgeries are brutal even to a young person, I'm sorry he's had so much. And for you and Jo, it's much more sitting on top of your moving, clearing things out, dealing with the market, etc. I can only wish you the best, and hope that peace and healing dawns on you all.
Also, I have your anniversary written down, I just haven't gotten to a piece yet. I will (I had it down for the 5th, I must've been off by a day). But my deepest congratulations to you both, esp with all you've been through. 51: You two have been together through everything, and for all those years it is so deeply moving. I hope your dinner tonight is terrific, and I wish you and Jo so much happiness, now and in the future. Happy Anniversary!
Finally, your image has beautiful color coordination, your model is posing as in a studio, I love the choice of red hair and lipstick to match the browns. Actually, it is the 5th.. LOL Yeah, we've been through some adventures together - and a lot of good times. Lots of good memories, and more to come. We're both fighters.

Prayers for your brother-in-law that he may receive much needed relief from the pain he is going through! I can't imagine what he is going through but I did have an extremely sore knee after I got my second covid shot that incapacitated me to using a walker for about a week. Fortunately, after getting no help from a chiropractor, I got a prescription for a steroid from my doctor and by some miracle it worked! Okay! Nuff about me! A most wonderful image here! And congratulations on 51 years! Many fine praises and kudos from me!
