Description

Blender has not been able to reproduce landscapes for years. This has changed during the last decade. Inspired by the greatworks of jhmart (Terragen), gillbrooks (Vue) and omniFx in here I took a journey through the possibilities and would like to tell bout in a loose series. (While waiting for a better world to arrive and the next work of kratzdistel. Oops, there is! Only the work, not the world. :)) Maybe its inspiring for some. You might achieve better results, cause i am no artist. --------------------------------------- May contain details --------------------------------------------------------------------- First one is a lill "ready-made": The TXA-Ant-Addon by nerk987 (https://github.com/nerk987/txa_ant) Installation as usual. It contains a three-step-method, you should follow along slavishly. Pros: - Steep learning-curve - You get landscapes in basic Terragen quality in quite a few minutes - This version contains a set of predefined Materials. Results may vary. - You can also use own shaders (Materials-> Nodes) - A wealth of funtions forming the terrain Cons: - Its very consuming because of high subdivsurfacing - A wealth of funtions forming the terrain; You might get "lost-in-fiddeling". - Only small documentation, You have to find out! - Renders look always stylized, sweetish, ghibli. Maybe my fault? :( Hints: - Leave the SD on 7 untill final rendering, then turn to 9 up to 11. The more SD, the more realitstic! Up there its 9. Deactivate the overlays; dunno why, but it make the handling more easy. - The Addon comes with a predefined sets of landscapes. The programmer offers a whole bunch more on his github-site, these are the real deals. I fell in love with "canyons". In need go to the website, copy the .PY-File an drop it into the folder of the addon. Cool! - The Addon seems to crash my device together with "Dynamic sky". Up there its "HDRI-Lighting". - I did not try the Addon on EEVEE! If You play around with and find out, how to make things better, I would like to hear (and see) how this can be done!
