Description
I spun this one up after downloading Lucien Lilippe's wheel lock pistol in Free Stuff. I plopped in my own rather hefty dragoon pistol for size and historical comparison.
The only changes I made to Lucien's weapon was darkening the steel a bit and changing the rammer textures to a maple as many pistols of this vintage used such dense and readily available woods for 'breakable' rammers (scouring sticks). Lucien's 'out of the box' texture is a very dark wood which might pass for ebony - entirely possible in an expensive weapon like a wheel lock. Both tweaks are entirely to taste - you do not need to do either for superb results
The 'fire blued' screws are a great touch.
A little more depth to the pyrite would help, but it's not a detraction.
I couldn't find any method to 'work' the lock, but I'm dumb as a rock.
Didn't think to pose it with a character....
In short Lucien's wheel lock is a massive beast that will enhance your musketeer and swashbuckler renders in very high style. I very highly recommend it.

Both are fine weapons indeed!

yes, and we can never have too many archaic weapons :)

I would fire them.

Thanks eekdog - I've fired plenty f old weapons including matchlocks but never a wheel lock. They were amazing 'off key' but effective attempts at providing instant ignition without a glowing cord. The snaphance and dog-locks put them to rest...

I'll have to go grab that wheel lock!

Highly recommend it Starship

Thanks from me and Lucien - We need quality 'period' weapons....

Bravo for the work and thank you very much for the reference.

You more than earned it - thanks for the pistol!

It's an impressive model. Fortunately there is an earlier version in OBJ format which will be easier for me to bring into Poser should I want to. =) Of course, there are ways to import things from DAZ Studio for my use but they require more work... and... I'm lazy. So lazy. =P

Read your other note first - glad you're back and might have use of the gun. Lucien has some later weapoins that might work for steampunk and steamcowboy...
