Description
One of Claire's pastimes is horse riding. She has recently started to take part in competitions for her age group, which takes up her time, but as well as training herself and her horse (who is called Cloverpatch), looking after him is also a big part of this particular activity so she spends a lot of her weekends at the stables. Occasionally, her boyfriend, Greg, comes to see her there after he has finished a session at the gym.

Yes, looking after the horse involves far more time than actually riding! I've had horses all my life, and have lived with them for 20+ years, and the riding is a much smaller part of it than non-horse people realize! They're basically very large pets with lots needs :-)
How nice of Claire's boyfriend to stop by the stables and to bring an apple for Cloverpatch!
